Every Child   Every Chance   Every Day   Together with Christ

Many congratulations to the U11 girls team who won the Hanson Sports Partnership Football League!! Over three weeks the girls played 10 games, scored lots and lots of goals and only conceded four goals. Well done to Izabelle and Chloe - our superstar goalkeepers! The girls have now qualified into the Partnership Finals.

Many thanks to all the parents and friends for their fantastic support!

Massive congratulations to the U11 boys football team who have completed their league games in the Hanson Partnership and qualified into the partnership finals! Out of the seven games played the boys won five, lost one and drew one. Great team work and some fantastic play against some very tough opponents. Thanks also to Patrick Downes and Oliver Lester who played in earlier games. Well done boys!

Many thanks also to the parents who have provided some super support for the team - Mrs Travis

English Institute of Sport

Six children from Year 5 were lucky enough to be invited by our Hanson Sports Partnership to visit the EIS in Sheffield. This was an opportunity to see where Olympic Champions Jessica Ennis and Nicola Adams train.

The children were coached in badminton and basketball and in the afternoon had training sessions on the athletics track where they had a go at high jump, long jump and running on the 200m track. Unfortunately we did not meet any of the Olympians but a great time was had by all!

U9 Football Team

On Thursday 18th October the U9s participated in a Catholic Partnership tournament at St Bede's. The teams were split into 2 groups and each team played five games. Our U9s played really well considering some of them had not played competitive football before and we came second in our group after only losing one game! Well done boys and girls!!

Hanson Sports Partnership League

Following on from our success in the Catholic Partnership the team then went up to Goals to play in our local Hanson Partnership. Games took place over two weeks and the team played six games in total. Teamwork and standard of play was exceptional and the players were a credit to the school! They won four games and lost two and came second in the league and won silver medals!

Many thanks to those parents who came and supported the children.

 U11 Football Team

On Thursday 4th October the U11 football team had two tournaments!

The first tournament was organised by The Catholic Sports Partnership and was held at at St Bede's Grammar School. The team played five games and had a draw and some losses. Considering that some of the boys had never played in a competitive game before they did really well!

Later that day the Hanson Sports Partnership leagues began and the boys played three games. They won all three of their games and scored an amazing 18 goals!! Watch this space for an update as the team play again this Thursday.

Many thanks to all of the parents who came to support both teams and helped with transport.

On Thursday 18th October the U11s played the last of their league games in the Hanson Partnership. Having already played six games and winning five and drawing one, we found ourselves joint top of the league on points but in second place due to goals scored.

The team had a convincing win in their first game and a bye in the third game which meant they had to win the second game against the team on top of the league. It was a thrilling game and the team were down 2-1 at half time but still had everything to play for! After an extremely tense seven minutes the team eventually won 4-2! It is impossible to single out any individuals as each player contributed massively in every game and the boys came away with gold medals as overall league winners!!

They will now go forward and play in the Bradford Partnership Finals later in the year.

Once again many thanks to the parents for their vocal support and for transporting the boys to the venue.

Catholic Sports Partnership Netball Tournament

On Thursday 29th November the U11 Netball team played in a tournament at St Bede's. The team played four games, winning three and losing only one. Standard of play was very good indeed and the team came second overall. We are now looking forward to playing in the Hanson Partnership netball league.

Hanson Sports Partnership Sports Hall Athletics Competition

On Thursday 6th December our Sports Hall Athletics team took part in a competition at The Pulse Gym. Each child had an individual event and then took part in team relay events. We had some very high places in the field events, which included long and triple jumps, chest pass throw, javelin and speed bounce jumps and ran our socks off in the running events. A great team effort by all!!

Sensational Day 2012

On Monday 21st May the U9s took part in the Bradford 5 a-side football competition at the Marley Centre in Keighley. They were in Group A and had games against Thackley, Low Ash, Allerton, Ley Top  and Baildon C of E. They played really well, won 4 out of their 5 games and came second in their group, only losing to Baildon who went on to win the competetion.

The team  were a credit to our school and should be very proud of the way they played and conducted themselves!

On Tuesday 22nd May the U11s  also went to the Marley Centre in Keighley to take part in the U11 competition. They were in a group with Thackley, Low Ash, St Matthews, Baildon, Farfield and Newhall Park. They had some fantastic games and had four good wins, one draw and one loss. They came a very close second to Baildon.

Yet again the team should be very proud of themselves for their excellent play and great sportsmanship!
