Thank you to all those who sponsored Class 3 to tidy up our local area. The children did a great job collecting litter in order to raise money for Catholic Care.

Our RE topic for the first half of the Spring term is

"Called to Change".

In this unit we will:

  • reflect on how Jesus calls us to change;
  • identify ways we can change this Lent and make our own Lenten resolutions;
  • understand what it means to say we are sorry;
  • deepen awareness of how forgiveness makes a person whole again;
  • know that the Sacrament of Reconciliation is a celebration of God's love and forgiveness.

In Science this term, we are looking at Grouping and Changing Materials:

Our Geography topic this term is Improving the Environment.

In this unit, we will be thinking about what we throw away in the classroom and the playground, and how it can be reduced. The children will:

  • become aware of the amount of waste within the classroom and how and why it should be reduced
  • express a view on an environmental issue and justify it
  • become aware of the amount of waste in the school grounds and how and why it should be reduced
  • express a view on an environmental issue and justify it
  • appreciate the need for improvement in some places
  • be aware that particular groups of people have some responsibility for improving environments
